Experience
Robert W. Lipp, III was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and
raised in Dayton, Ohio.
He is licensed to practice law in Ohio, Michigan and
Colorado. His father was a Neonatologist and Pediatrician,
and his mother a Registered Nurse, Professor of Nursing,
and Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse, dedicated to helping children and their families.
Growing up in a medical environment, Mr. Lipp grew to
appreciate the demands and nuances of the medical
profession. After
an upbringing marked by participation in athletics, Robert attended Ohio
Northern University where he achieved
athletic success, including being captain of the soccer
team and being named first- team all-conference and all-Mideastern
region his junior and senior years. This
culminated in the nomination and
appointment to the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee, a committee consisting of eight Division I
athletes, four Division II athletes, and four Division III
athletes, who congregated with the executive board of
the NCAA to discuss avenues for
improvement and advancement of the student-athlete.
After college, Robert enrolled in the University of
Dayton School of Law in 1990 and graduated in 1993.
During law school he enjoyed the privilege to
clerk for the Honorable John W. Kessler of the
Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, while working
part-time for a medical malpractice defense firm based
in Cleveland with offices in Cincinnati, Ohio.
During his second year in law school, Mr. Lipp
was fortunate enough to garner a coveted summer
clerkship with a large medical malpractice defense firm
(over 100 attorneys) in Detroit, Michigan.
Thereafter, Mr. Lipp was hired by this firm as a
full-time associate attorney and was assigned to the
Birth Trauma Team. The
Birth Trauma Team was a select team of attorneys who
concentrated on the defense of hospitals and doctors in
the Detroit area and throughout Michigan, by defending
obstetricians and hospitals in cases involving serious
injuries to children and/or mothers, including
brain-damaged infants and babies with cerebral palsy.
During this time, Mr. Lipp traveled thousands of miles
and across the country to meet and work with numerous
well-known, and even world-renowned experts in their
respective fields in conjunction with their theories and
testimony. He also had the privilege to prepare for and
cross-examine top medical experts in multi-million dollar cases.
Through his work with the Detroit medical
malpractice firm, Mr. Lipp had the privilege of learning
from one of the most knowledgeable and respected
obstetrical defense attorneys in Detroit, and even
the nation. He appeared as the sole presenter for
the Hospital at mediation in multi-million dollar
cases. During this time Mr. Lipp had the opportunity to appear
for oral argument in many courts,
including Wayne County Circuit Court, McComb County
Circuit Court, Genessee County Circuit Court, Oakland
County Circuit Court and
Washtenaw Circuit Court. Mr.
Lipp worked against some of the
nations top attorneys and was privileged to learn
"tricks of the trade" from them as well.Thereafter,
Mr. Lipp left the
defense practice to open The Lipp Firm
Co., L.P.A.. He now dedicates his time to assisting
individuals and families injured by medical malpractice, professional
negligence or other negligence with a belief these people need compassion
and understanding in a time of tragedy.
Mr. Lipp takes pride in helping injured children,
individuals and their families in a time of tragedy;
therefore, when they need it
most. He uses
compassionate professional attention when personally
evaluating your claim. He is a member of
the Ohio Bar, Michigan Bar, Colorado Bar, American Bar Association,
Ohio State Bar Association, Dayton Bar Association,
Miami Valley Trial Lawyers Association and Ohio Academy of
Trial Lawyers. Mr. Lipp
